Board Members Needed for the Global Water Alliance

Have you ever wondered about your ability to make a difference? Join the Board of Global Water Alliance (GWA) to help us to fulfill our Vision……. to create a world where all people have access to safe drinking water and sanitation, a world free from suffering from water and sanitation-related diseases. Expectations for Board Members

Please know that as a Board member, your assistance and guidance will be valued and appreciated.

Engagement and Leadership

  • Attend all the of the Board meetings unless the President grants an exemption.
  • Serve on at least one GWA Committee.
    • Attend appropriate committee meetings, as well as some of the GWA signature events each year.
  • Assist in ensuring that Board resolutions are carried out.
  • Assist in ensuring that GWA bylaws and policies are followed.
  • Assist in ensuring that the GWA Code of Ethics policies are followed.
  • Sign annually a conflict-of-interest form to abide by the GWA conflict of Interest policy.

Advocacy

  • Network with their personal, professional, and civic contacts to support GWA.
  • Share ideas, skills in support of GWA.
  • Act as trusted advisors to Board president.
  • Act as ambassador for GWA in promoting our reputation and community standing.

Fundraising

  • Make an annual financial contribution to GWA
    • (Regular Board Member – payment of Board fee and insurance).
    • (Student Board Member – pay Membership dues)
  • Participate in GWA’s fundraising activities; there is a task appropriate for everyone’s style and comfort level.

Professional Skills

  • Share and volunteer their respective professional skills, be it communication, law, finance, writing, etc., in order to fulfill and enhance the organizational goals.

Communication

  • Communicate effectively, transparently, and appropriately with other Board members, as well as the general public.
