Deborah Heuckeroth, PE, ENV SP

President-Elect, Global Water Alliance

Debbie Heuckeroth, PE, ENV SP, has over 30 years of environmental experience. In her current role of Global Sr Principal, Environmental Management, she serves as a subject matter expert for Kenvue, a global consumer health leader. Prior to her current role, she held roles working in or providing long-term consulting services to large multinational companies including Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health, General Electric and Arkema. She has audited and visited facilities in numerous countries on five continents, the Americas, Europe, Asia and Africa, and assisted in strategic decision-making related to suppliers globally. She has conducted environmental training in many countries and researched environmental regulations in over 30. She has worked on major capital projects, and in consulting as project manager on projects including wastewater regulatory compliance, environmental remediation systems design, construction and operations.

Debbie earned an MS in Civil Engineering (Environmental) from Carnegie-Mellon University, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from University of Maryland. In addition to her professional engineering (PE) license, she is credentialed by the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure as an Envision® Sustainability Professional (ENV SP).

Within the Global Water Alliance (GWA), Debbie leads the Project Committee, and is set to take on the president role in January 2024. In 2022, she attended the World Water Forum in Senegal as part of a GWA team, which included a University of Pennsylvania Masters of Environmental Studies class lead by GWA Board Members. Besides GWA, she is also a member of the Sanitation Standing Content Committee and Philadelphia Professional Chapter of Engineers Without Borders (EWB-USA). Close to home she is a member of the Wissahickon Trails Water Resources Committee and a former member of the Whitemarsh Township Environmental Advisory Board. Debbie has presented on global water, wastewater, waste and EHS engagement topics for EWB-USA, chapters of the UN Association, NAEM, ORCHSE, EHSICC, and as a guest lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania.

When she is not busy driving towards sustainability for people and planet, you can find Debbie enjoying family life with her husband and sons, and maximizing her time on, in, and with water: boating, swimming, and being in awe of our natural world.
