2022 Student Board Members
Kiah Benson
Kiah graduated Summa Cum Laude from Rowan University in 2022, receiving her BA in International Studies. Her academic achievements and international experience resulted in her being chosen as the 2022 International Studies Senior of Distinction. During her time at Rowan, Kiah was a member of the Sigma Iota Rho national honor society and Rowan’s Model United Nations delegation. Kiah’s undergraduate studies provided her with an interdisciplinary understanding of international politics, economics, history, society, and culture. Committed to global environmental and human rights issues, Kiah combined her interest in international politics and the environment to write her undergraduate thesis on the role of water in the Israel-Palestine conflict. She will continue her education and pursue a graduate degree in water policy and management to gain the skills necessary to address complex hydro-political issues and solve problems related to global water access.
Kala Yarnall
Kala Yarnall is interested in the intersection of peace building and engineering projects specifically pertaining to the protection of water sources, the remediation and restoration of natural resources, and providing safe water and sanitation for communities. She is a graduate student studying Peace Engineering and Environmental Engineering at Drexel University. She is passionate about working with communities to find affordable innovative technology unique to their assets and needs.
